You can also always sell yours 1-ounce silver bullion bars to local silver dealers, coin dealers or jewelry shops.

I’m not sure about buying on ebay. Even without all the scammers, it is easy for consumers who are not familiar with buying silver bars to get confused regarding the different purities of bars and silver’s volatile spot price.
Personally I would recommend newbies to buy from some of the refiners you mention such as Sunshine Mint. Not really any point holding out for bars like Engelhard. By the time you get your hands on one, the silver price may have hit the roof already!
Why are Pan American Silver Corp. silver 1oz bars marked 1 Troy ounce when in fact they only weight 28.53 grams instead of 31.1 grams.
